How can I compile this in Visual Studio 2008?

Postby jumper4000 » Sat Aug 14, 2010 1:44 pm

I keep getting errors and warnings about 'AxWFICALib' and 'AxICAClient' and a bunch of other Citrix related stuff. Does anyone know where I can get these components to compile this?

Thanks

It looks like this project is dead again, but I finally got this to compile. For anyone else who's interested, what I did was to copy AxICACLient.dll and WFICALib.dll from this file, http://www.isheu.com/data_5078_1.aspx, into the "mRemoteV1\References\" folder, then deleted the old references, and referenced these two files in the project, and it finally compiled in Visual Studio 2008.

I'm not a programmer, but can figure my way around this code. Right now, I'm working on three new features -

1. I want to enable font smoothing in RDP (I really need this).
2. I want every connection to open in its own panel, so I can drag out individual connections and look at them side by side if I wanted to.
3. Make the interface as minimal as possible, so I have more room in the remote desktop window.

Once I get these working, if anyone is interested, I'll upload it somewhere for you to download.

Thanks,
-A

Hi,

I am currently also having a deeper look into the code, so its great that someone else is interested in the project and you found out how to fill the missing references.

like you, I've downloaded the latest iteration of the code and had a run at it in VS2008. got it compiling and added a couple of options for AD-import that I wanted. Just sent a ping to riley to let him know, I'd perferr to stay on the same versioning system as we're at here..

The references are not included in the source code. For Citrix and possibly XULRunner, you'll have to install them. The links are on the downloads page on the mRemoteNG website. The other references are included in the mRemoteNG ZIP file.

I'd love to work on this program, but do I really need to use Visual Studio? It kind of stinks because I find it hard to follow the flow of the program. Where would I start to help work on mRemoteNG with you guys?

Huh, turns out I can use Xamarin Studio, which I use for MONO, and C#. The mRemoteNC project someone stated somewhere was able to open up pretty easy, but I ran into a shared library issue I have to find and fix. I guess I'm going in the right direction now.

If you have any more tips or hints, please feel free to chime in.
