Help Wanted

Postby rmcardle » Wed Apr 21, 2010 7:31 am

I'm looking for developers that would be interested in helping with mRemoteNG. There's a lot of stuff that needs improvement at every skill level from beginner to expert. You can modify and compile mRemoteNG with the free Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition.

Let me know if you are interested in helping out and I can help you get started with downloading the source from git and making sure mRemoteNG compiles for you.

I'm willing to put time forward to get SQL working properly. I'm a PHP/Perl novice programmer, however I can find problems very easily by debugging.

Yes, I am still looking for help. I have been too busy to work on mRemoteNG lately. Anyone who wants to help is welcome to. What I really need is someone to help coordinate things. I've never managed an open source project like this so I really don't know how to manage several developers working on things at once. Andreas Rehm has been doing some excellent work on translations and other things lately. If anyone else works on anything, it will have to be coordinated so that there aren't conflicts with what he has is working on.

Let me install the source and see about making it build. I should then be able to tell you where I think that I can be of most value.

Hi,

are you still looking for some help?

I have some basic experience with vb.net and want to improve my skills, and I can help translating into german. So if you need somebody for some smaller task at first here I am.

I have also some experience in databases so perhaps I can also help there.

Kind regards

What we really need is someone to take over project management. I'm finding that I have neither the time or motivation to keep up with the development of mRemoteNG.

I think I've gotten a good infrastructure laid out and there's a bunch of people willing to help with development and translation. The project just needs someone with time, motivation and project management experience to lead the way.

I really don't want to see this project die again and I feel guilty I've let it go on like this for so many months. I'm really hoping someone can take the reigns and get things going again.

I can understand that's its not so easy to say "I don't have the motivation anymore to keep up with this project", and it's speaks for you that you posted it here instead of doing nothing.
I was thinking the last 5 minutes about your post
Unfortunately I have come to the end that I don't have the time nor the experience to lead such a project. But what I can bring in is to help you or somebody else to organize things, discuss new idea's and so on.
Perhaps it's better to say ok we don't have a new project leader, but together we can do it and we should form comitee of let's say 3 people which lead the project.

So I think what we first need is a list of people which have and/or want to contribute to this project.

I am using MRemoteNG daily on my job, so it would be really a pitty if this project will die again.
